With Agent locations around Japan, sending money anywhere is fast and easy. You can transfer money in person at Western Union® Agent locations throughout Japan, paying in cash to send funds that can be collected from more than 500,000 Western Union Agent locations in more than 200 countries and territories around the world. You can send a transfer of up to 1 million yen from an Agent location. Friendly and knowledgeable Agent associates will help you send your money with ease and allow the recipient to collect the fund within minutes.
Fill out the form provided and show your identification document as required to the Western Union® Agent.
Valid Resident Card
One of the following valid Identification document is acceptable:
a) Japanese Driver’s License
b) Passport (stating the current address with complete street number, written by unalterable writing implements, such as ballpoint pen, fountain pen, etc.
c) Health Insurance Card (Please add one from among the following supplemental documents)
d) Basic Resident Registration Card (with photo)
e) Physical Disability Certificate
f) Individual Number Card (My Number Card)
Supplemental Documents
1. National tax, local tax, receipt of automobile tax (with statement of current address issued within 6 months)
2. Certificate of Residence (issued within 6 months)
3. Certificate of Registered Seal (issued within 6 months)
Passport
a) Notification Card
b) Individual Number Card (My Number Card)
c) Certificate of Residence with your Individual Number (My Number), issued within 6 months.
d) Consumer’s Copy of Money Transfer Application Form with your Individual Number (My Number).
The Individual Number is not required; consumers only need to provide another form of Identification Document.
Give the Western Union® Agent the amount of money that you want to send, including any necessary service fees.
You will receive a customer’s copy and a printout of the transaction details. One of the details in the customer’s copy is the Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN). You can track the status of your money transfer online with your MTCN.
Save your receipt and share the tracking number (MTCN) with your receiver for pick up.
It is very easy to receive money.
First, locate your nearest Western Union® Agent location in Japan. Then make your way to the Agent location.
Before you visit our Agent location, make sure that the money is ready. Either contact the sender to confirm, or track the status of your money transfer online or call 0034-800-400-733 (Toll Free within Japan) or +61-2-9226-9554 (International Call) during service hours hours (Monday – Sunday, 9:00 – 22:00 for Japanese and Chinese; English and Tagalog services are available 24 hours a day).
Remember to bring the following information:
*The sender’s full name (that is, first, middle and last names).
*The country where the money was sent.
*The approximate amount that was sent.
*The number of your transaction (MTCN).
*Your identification document as required.
Just fill out the form and provide the Agent the MTCN, sender’s name, amount expected, city/country where the money was sent from and your identification document as required.
The Agent will then hand you your money together with the receipt. Transaction is complete. Please keep your money in a safe and secure place.
If you want to send or receive money at a Western Union® Agent location, first you need to fill out the application form. You can download, print, fill out the “Money Transfer Application Form” (PDF file), and bring it to the Western Union Agent location, or simply fill out the form at the Agent location.
